The Copper Comeback

The Copper Comeback

The Wall Street Journal posted an article on interior design trends to look out for in 2016; one of their top five was “Rosy Metallics”, and more specifically copper! Copper has long been used for architectural purposes, pots and pans etc. however now it is finding its way into the world of interior design! Its rosy and bright luster provides an eye catching accent to any room. We’re going to show you four ways to introduce this beautiful metal into your home!

  1. Cookware! Copper pans are nothing new, however it can be used in other cookware items that are on display in the kitchen. They look especially beautiful in white based kitchens as their color stands out more. Remember to use copper sparingly however, so as not to overwhelm the kitchen!

  2. Copper makes for stunning lighting elements in any room. Drawing the eye to its warmth, it looks even more captivating once it is illuminated. We love these drop down hanging copper lights…

  3. Hardware is the perfect place to introduce this shiny accent. Again, its contrast against a white cabinet is just wonderful! There is a huge variety of copper hardware, from satin copper to hammered, they are becoming increasingly popular.

  4. Copper can also be used in a more subtle way. It looks great as a table accessory, and what better accessory than a copper “vase”. We love these unconventional copper vessels for flower arrangements. They add a nuance of warmth and enhance, if not outshine, the beauty of the flowers within them!
