The possibilities are endless with an old family heirloom. Just because it’s original form doesn’t fit your personal style doesn’t mean that you can’t successfully incorporate it into your home especially if you have a more current flavor to your style. It meant a lot to our client to keep this piece in their home. We helped our clients figure out that their style was very fresh but sophisticated and could be perfectly coordinated with the redesign of this settee. Appreciating the lines of this heirloom we decided to bring it into the new generation.

Our first goal in redesigning the piece was to find the perfect fabric. Having a large scale print, it is essential that an upholsterer  keep the pattern continuous throughout the shape of the piece including the seat cushion. Deciding to paint the legs, we brought out the traditional detail in a modern way. Thanks Grandma:)
